Mardi Gras Parade & Party

Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 5:30 to 7pm

The night before Ash Wednesday, Calvary throws a big party to celebrate before Lent begins. We have a jazz band who plays live music. We parade down the sidewalks of Main Street dancing to the music, handing out beads, and waving the Mardi Gras flag. After the parade, we return to the Parish Hall for a pancake dinner and live jazz music. We end the evening in the church courtyard with a short evening liturgy as we burn the palms from the previous year’s Palm Sunday to create ashes for Ash Wednesday. Following the God of love fills us with joy & we hope you’ll join the parade!

This year, the City of Bastrop is celebrating Mardi Gras with various events in January and February. Learn more here.
