If you don't have a downtown, you really don't have anything. It's hard to build a community around parking lots and subdivisions.

For over 150 years, Calvary has been a place to call home at the intersection of downtown & the river. Like the Colorado River, we impact all of Bastrop County and beyond. But our roots are in one of the most historic downtowns in Texas. Our Parish Hall is at the corner of Main & Spring streets, giving us an amazing opportunity to build relationships with the downtown community, open our doors and share space, and add to the rich culture of our artistic community.

Downtown Ministries and other events are a part of our Calvary community life.  We participate in regular downtown events that include Mardi Gras, Boo Bash, and the Christmas Parade and support other community events.

We host special events for the whole community that include Concerts and Calvary, Thanksgiving Feast, Cocoa and Carols and St. Francis Fest.

Our church also provides spaces for artists and entrepreneurs at a low cost inside the Mercantile on Main.

Concerts at Calvary feature a wide variety of artists.
Boo Bash
Parishioners pass out treats in front of the Sanctuary during Boo Bash. Inside folks line up to ring the Church Bell.
One of the Calvary families dressed in their costumes as wise men and sheperds prepare to board the Calvary Christmas float during the Bastrop Christmas Parade.
Our Little Library makes a great place to grab a new book to read, no matter your age.
The Mercantile on Main offers spaces for artists and craftpersons to sell their work.
Our annual fundraiser, Art Fest, takes place over a weekend in the early family offering a wide variety of arts and crafts for sale to benefit local artists and our church.
