At Calvary, Easter is a part of a longer season that begins with Mardi Gras (also known as Shrove Tuesday or Fat Tuesday)! At Calvary, we observe the season of Lent, which begins with Ash Wednesday (the day after Mardi Gras). Lent is a time of preparation for Holy Week, the week where we literally embody the story of Jesus’s last days on earth and experience how the sacred life of the historical Jesus continues to thrive in the present-day life of the Church. Holy Week hosts Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday; it is a time to acknowledge our humanity, suffering, and the power of community. At last, we reach the resurrection of Christ, celebrated on Easter Sunday.

No matter where you are on your journey of faith or how long you’ve lived here, we invite you to find a place to call home at Calvary this Easter. You will be warmly greeted, have everything you need to guide you during worship, and be part of timeless worship that will ground you. Together, we will witness Christ’s renewal in song, lament, the laughter of children, bread, wine, story & prayer. And we can’t imagine doing it without you. Find a place to call home at Calvary this Lent, Holy Week, and Easter season.

Lent is a season of spiritual gardening, of inviting God to unearth in us what lies fallow, what needs to be tended, and what needs to die for new life to emerge. This year, our lectionary offers us images and stories with themes of earthiness and grit.

You are invited to join Calvary through a contemplative and communal season of Lent. Calvary will join with communities across the country as we journey together through Sanctified Art’s Lenten series Cultivating & Letting Go.

  • Lenten Devotional: A printed guided journal will be available on Sunday, March 2. We are asking for $5 to help cover the cost of printing.

  • Lenten Dinner Series: We will gather Thursday nights for dinner, conversation, and spiritual reflection. No RSVP necessary. Come any Thursday(s) you can. Thursdays Mar 13, 20, 27, Apr 3 & 10 from 6p-7:30p in the Parish Hall.

Please note! Sunday March 23: Services are at 8am and 10am
